Epimedium – Barrenwort

Great, early-blooming groundcover for dry shade! Very popular under trees where little else will perform. Once established, fills in fast.

Prefers woodland-like conditions with well drained soil. Foliage on some varieties stays green through the winter. If the deer don't do it for you, many gardeners like to cut back the winter foliage in early spring to allow better display of new growth and blooms.
