New for 2010! 30" tall, space 30" apart, flower height 36", Zones 6-9, full sun, 3" pot.
Really long -- summer-long -- bloom time with very large, violet-blue flowers held on upright stems. More compact and thus less floppy than the species. Resembles Penstemon but has aromatic leaves to deter deer and blooms over much a longer perior. Likes well drained soil and has low fertilizer requirements. Long enough blooming to use in a sunny, deer-resistant container. Very showy! PPAF.
